1947 - The Diary of Anne Frank Published

The 1st edition of The Diary Of A Young Girl also known as The Diary of Anne Frank got published.


1950 - Korean War begun

North Korea unleashed an attack southward across the 38th parallel, after which the UN Security Council (minus the Soviet delegate) passed a resolution calling on UN members to assist South Korea.


1975 - Emergency Declared in India

Then President of India Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed officially issued the declaration of Emergency Rule under Article 352 (1) which was withdrawn on 21 March 1977.


1978 - The first version of the rainbow flag, which represents LGBTQ pride, was flown during the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day parade.


1983 - India Won 1st World Cup

India won the first-ever cricket World Cup, defeating the West Indies by 43 runs in the championship match at the Lord's Cricket Ground. 37 years have passed since India won the competition. All-around player Kapil Dev served as the team's captain. Sunil Gavaskar, K Srikkanth, Mohinder Amarnath, Yashpal Sharma, SM Patil, Kapil Dev (captain), Kirti Azad, Roger Binny, Madan Lal, Syed Kirmani, and Balwinder Sandhu were all members of India's World Cup-winning playing XI.


2009 - Michael Jackson Death Anniversary

Michael Joseph Jackson was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist. Known as the "King of Pop", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century.

1. 1728 - Shah Alam II
Shah Alam II, also known by his birth name Ali Gohar, was the seventeenth Mughal Emperor and the son of Alamgir II. Shah Alam II became the emperor of a crumbling Mughal Empire. Sultanat-e-Shah Alam, Az Dilli ta Palam, or "The empire of Shah Alam is from Delhi to Palam," is a proverb in the Persian language that refers to how weak his power was throughout his rule. Palam is a suburb of Delhi.
 
2. 1951 - Satish Shah

Satish Ravilal Shah is an Indian actor. He is best known for his comic roles in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa and Om Shanti Om. In 2008, he also co-judged Comedy Circus with Archana Puran Singh.
