Opening of Online Nomination for 2023-24 Under INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme
Department of Science and Technology (DST) Govt. Of India has opened the Online Nomination for 2023-24 under INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme from 1st May 2023 till 31st August 2023 for students of 6th to 10th class studying in Govt and Private Schools.
INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme is a talent hunt programme which provides a best platform for children to showcase their talent of innovation and creativity.
The Schools (Govt. As well as Private) registered under INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme in each financial year can upload the nominations of 5 best ideas through Online mode, in E-Management of INSPIRE MANAK Scheme (E-MIAS) web portal of the Department using link: www.inspireawards-dst.gov.in
All Schools (Govt. & Private) have to nominate 5 students with 5 best Ideas which are innovative and original having social utility and can solve any problem in any field viz Health, Agriculture, education, Conservation of Environment and Natural Resources, Energy Crisis, transport, etc.

Knowing the INSPIRE Programme:
Ø The programme is being executed by Department of Science and Technology (DST) Govt. Of India with National Innovation Foundation (NIF).
Ø Students of class 6 to 10 (10-15 years age) of Govt./Private institutions can participate.
Ø An amount of rupees 10000 is deposited in the account of the student for model preparation if his/her idea is selected by DST.
Ø The main aim is to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children.
Objectives of INSPIRE Manak:
Ø Nurturing scientific temperament: INSPIRE MANAK aims to develop a scientific mindset and curiosity among students, encouraging them to ask questions, explore, and think critically.
Ø Promoting innovation: The program inspires students to develop innovative ideas, projects, and solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute to society.
Ø Mentoring and guidance: INSPIRE MANAK provides mentorship and guidance to students, helping them refine their ideas, enhance their scientific skills, and navigate the path of innovation.
Ø Showcasing talent: The program offers a platform for students to showcase their scientific projects and inventions, fostering confidence, recognition, and exposure at regional, national, and international levels.
Eligibility Criteria:
Ø The INSPIRE MANAK program is open to all school students in India from grades 6 to 10. The eligibility criteria include:
Ø Indian citizenship: Students must be Indian citizens to participate in the program.
Ø School enrollment: Participants must be enrolled in recognized schools in India.
Ø Age limit: The program is open to students within the age range specified by the program guidelines.
Selection Process:
The selection process for INSPIRE MANAK involves the following stages:
Ø District-level competition: Students submit their innovative project ideas at the district level, where they are evaluated by a panel of experts. The best projects are selected to move forward to the next level.
Ø State-level competition: Participants present their projects at the state level, where they undergo further evaluation by an expert panel. The top projects from each state progress to the national level.
Ø National-level competition: The selected students showcase their projects at the national level, competing for top honors. They receive mentorship and guidance to refine their projects further.
Recognition and Rewards:
INSPIRE MANAK recognizes and rewards the innovative efforts of participating students. The program offers financial support, scholarships, exposure visits, and other incentives to motivate and encourage the students.
