3 June - World Bicycle Day

The United Nations General Assembly declared 3rd June as International World Bicycle Day to recognize the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which are affordable, environmentally friendly fit sustainable means of transportation.

1. 1947 - Lord Mountbatten Implemented the Independence Act of 1947

The 3rd June 1947 Plan was also known as the Mountbatten Plan. The British government proposed a plan, announced on 3 June 1947, that included these principles: Principle of the partition of British India was accepted by the British Government. Successor governments would be given dominion status.

2. In 1965, astronaut Edward H. White became the first American to “walk” in space during the flight of Gemini 4.

3. 1972 - INS Nilgiri Commissioned

5. 2014 - Hashim Amla becomes the first non-white captain of the South African national cricket team.

6. 2021 - NASA launches 128 baby squid and 5,000 microscopic animals, to study effects of spaceflight, to the International Space Station aboard Space X's Falcon 9 rocket.

Stuart Terence Roger Binny is an Indian former international cricketer, who had played One Day Internationals, Twenty20 Internationals, and Tests. He played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. On 30 August 2021, Binny announced his retirement from all formats of cricket.

Jiah Khan, whose birth name was Nafisa Rizvi Khan, was a British-American actress of Indian descent. She was born on February 20, 1988, in New York City, United States, and tragically passed away on June 3, 2013, in Mumbai, India, at the age of 25.
